about
Wayside was recorded in Hellfire Studios, Dublin, Ireland. The band tracked live, just like it should be done. Diarmuid says of the Wayside lyrics - "My Da always said he had gotten more hardship than me growing up. I reckon his Da said the same and now I'm saying the same to my son. There is one thing however that has been consistent with men through time and that's the inability to talk about their feelings. Us men need to speak up when we need help, reach out to somebody, anybody, just reach out."
lyrics
For every pocket screen shine smile
There’s a torso pic bring me down
For every textual anonymous line
There should be some character building time
Such pressure today, yeah, only different
Daddy’s gone to war, take over your family
If you need somebody now, call out a name
Don’t you go go dying, never coming back
If you need somebody now, call out a name
Don’t you go go dying, never coming back
If you need somebody now, call out a name
Don’t you go go dying, never coming back
Man has always fell to the wayside
Bottle bubble up, keep it in, landslide
A man was not a man to cry out loud
Stop them dropping, stop them dropping, stop them dropping like flies
Such pressure today, no, only different
Barefoot walking, share one plate
If you need somebody now, call out a name
Don’t you go go dying, never coming back
If you need somebody now, call out a name
Don’t you go go dying, never coming back
Need somebody now, call out a name
Don’t you go go dying, you’re never coming back
Just be you, just be you, just be you, just be you
You just be, you just be, you just be
If you need somebody now, call out a name
Don’t you go go dying, never coming back
If you need somebody now, call out a name
Don’t you go go dying, never coming back
If you need somebody now, call out a name
Don’t you go go dying, never coming back
If you need somebody now, call out a name
Don’t you go go dying, never coming back again
